My mother and aunt are both alumna of Mount Union. I chose to attend because of their biology program and the good memories my family had here. I was grateful to receive the Founder’s Scholarship and Legacy Award to attend school at Mount. Being close to friends and professors makes Mount Union special. I know there’s someone on campus who will have my back in my current endeavors and successes.

Why 生物学 and 日本?

I chose to major in biology because I’ve always loved learning about cells and the different processes that allow us and other creatures to live and survive every day. I also hope that one day I can use my knowledge to contribute to science. I chose 日本 because I wanted to learn more about 日本 culture. I would like to possibly live and work in Japan in the future. I wish to work in Japan as a microbiologist, to learn how we can combat diseases and virus outbreaks. I would also like to learn how these different bacteria and virus operate. Mount Union is preparing me for that by offering classes that suit my interests. I really enjoyed my microbiology classes, and before this semester, I had no idea I would like it this much.
